The General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), has elected the Rev. Prof. Frederick Mawusi Amevenku as the 15th Moderator of the Church.Β

Rev. Prof. Amevenku, currently serving as President of Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, and District Minister of the EPCG Kisseman District, now ascends to the highest office of spiritual and administrative leadership within the Church.

In the election, he received 111 votes (72.55%), while Rev. Prof. Daniel Yao Bruce garnered 41 votes (26.80%); one ballot was set aside.

A distinguished scholar, Rev. Prof. Amevenku is a Professor of New Testament Studies and Biblical Hermeneutics, with research interests spanning Mother‑Tongue Theologising, the Gospels, Pauline Studies, Disability Hermeneutics, and Biblical Interpretation in the African context. Commissioned into ordained ministry in 2005, he has faithfully pastored congregations across Kpedze, Ashalley Botwe, Nima, Adenta, Tetegu, and Kisseman, and currently serves as National President of the EPCG Pastors’ Association.
