Standing Committee members inspect ongoing works at the Legacy Project site
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church is advancing one of its most ambitious infrastructure initiatives in recent historyβthe 175th Anniversary Hall and Youth Resource Centre. Following a recent inspection by the Standing Committee and senior officers, leaders confirmed that the substructure phaseβthe very foundation of the buildingβis firmly underway. This marks a decisive step from vision to reality, symbolizing the churchβs enduring commitment to future generations.
Located at Kpodzi, the facility is envisioned as more than a hall. Designed as a βcradle of excellence,β it will feature a 500βseat multipurpose conference hall, digital media hubs, and vocational training suites. The centre will serve as a hub for mentorship, Christian education, and professional skills developmentβimpacting not only the churchβs 10,000 members but also the wider Ho community.
Just weeks after signing agreements with contractors, the site has become a hive of activity. Rising pillars now mark the footprint of a facility that embodies both legacy and innovation. βThis isnβt just about bricks and mortar,β the project team emphasized. βIt is a strategic response to the need for youth development and church legacy.β
For the EPCG, this is truly a Legacy Projectβa physical testament to nearly two centuries of faith and resilience. Yet, its completion depends on collective commitment. Leaders are calling for members, congregants, and the global diaspora to move beyond spectatorship and actively support the project.
- Membership Commitment: Every member is encouraged to contribute at least GHS10.00. Vouchers and sponsorship levels are available to enable consistent support.
- A Call for Prayer: The church appeals for spiritual covering over workers, consultants, and the technical team as construction progresses.
- Broader Impact: Beyond serving the church, the facility will bolster local tourism and hospitality, complementing nearby institutions like the Kekeli Hotel, while also integrating international broadcasting capabilities to extend EPCGβs message globally.
As the pillars rise, the message is clear: the past 175 years were about survival and growth; the next century will be about empowerment and excellence. But for this vision to reach its roofline, the call for support has never been more urgent. π To support the project, contact: 0241222733 / 0553681080.
