The Department of Administration and Human Resource Management is the backbone of organizational efficiency within the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana. It ensures that the Church’s mission is supported by well-structured systems, empowered personnel, and effective resource management. Leadership & Appointment
The department is headed by the Director of Administration and Human Resource Management, appointed by the General Assembly Executive Council upon the recommendation of the Standing Committee, and subject to the approval of the General Assembly. This appointment process reflects the Church’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and spiritual stewardship in leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Human Resource Planning
Conducting investigations, supply and demand forecasting, and planning to ensure effective staffing and resourcing
Records & Information Systems
Maintaining manual records and human resource information systems to support timely and informed decision-making
Training & Development
Enhancing the capabilities of Church Agents through appropriate training and development initiatives
Reward & Retention
Creating a reward management system that motivates, recognizes, and retains staff
Industrial Relations & Welfare
Promoting a positive industrial relations climate while safeguarding the welfare and rights of Church Agents
Logistics & Administration
Managing logistics, administrative systems, and support services, while ensuring the maintenance of Church properties
Supervision & Oversight
Directly and indirectly supervising staff at the Church Headquarters to ensure efficiency and accountability
Additional Assignments
Performing other functions as may be assigned by the General Assembly through the Standing Committee.
Accountability Structure
The Director of Mission and Evangelism is responsible to the Standing Committee through the Clerk of the General Assembly, ensuring that the department’s work remains accountable, transparent, and aligned with the governance framework of the Church.
